The Department of Chemistry at Indira Gandhi College of Arts and Science was established to teach Chemistry to the students of degree courses of Biotechnology and Applied Microbiology offered in this college. The Department has a separate lab with state of the arts equipment to support the Lab sessions.

Tutorial classes are given to weak students. Special Attention is given to slow learners both in theory and practicals. Students are encouraged to participate and present papers at symposia conducted at various colleges.
